A fatal accident Saturday night killed a Fort Dale Academy student, according to the Butler County Sheriff's Department. The Indiana County coroner's office announced Monday that Robert James Kotchey died after being thrown from an ATV. He was driving an SUV with his father and a friend in the school parking lot around 9.30pm on Saturday, police said. A driver said the accident happened at the intersection of South Main Street and South Washington Street in Fortaleza.
Mahanoy Township police said at the scene that a Hyundai Sonata was traveling eastbound on South Main Street when the driver, whose identity has not been released, lost control and crashed into a tree. Buck, 16, died in the accident, which occurred about 10: 30 p.m. on Saturday, the Butler County Sheriff's Department said. The accident occurred shortly after 11: 15 a.m., according to Indiana County coroner's records, who said Briggs Robert Buck of Chicora was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed into a fence on the south side of the road near the intersection of South State Street and South North Street in Fortaleza. Pitkin, 30, of Papplar Bluff, was driving his car when he veered off the left side of the road.
